WELCOME TO STORY PAGE FOUR.
Thank goodness, in story page four we get to take a breath. Be it a small one.
In case you haven't noticed we picked up a new player, only a bit part, but a player nevertheless, "Ms. Paladin", see if you can find her.
We will see the usual discriminators / retaliators plying their trade and a new twist, "The Flower" and "Bradford the Educated" hiding behind a woman's skirt.
I now prepared myself to face alone the struggle of the journey. Dante Alighieri.
What a journey we have traveled thus far together my friends. It has been fraught with danger, deception and intrigue.
As you recall at the end of story page 3:
"Allison in Blunder land" had delivered her infamous kick,
"Bradford the Educated" was asleep in class, AKA, Bradford's Blunder
"The Flower" was hiding once again.
"Pinocchio" wasn't talking
Well that was it, as of April 11, 2006 the party was over, I was not getting paid and presumably fired. Then the most amazing phenomenon occurred. Silence, absolute Silence.
I waited for a response from "Bradford the Educated", no answer, we called "Allison in Blunder land", no answer, and as usual, "The Flower" was safely tucked away behind Calico.
As I recall, about three weeks of Silence had passed when we decided that enough was enough. Around May 1, 2006 my wife began Calling "Bradford the Educated" hourly requesting that he call us back. He didn't. The next day "Bradford the Educated" sent us the following letter (read the letter, it is important) via Fed Ex.

Ok, "Bradford the Educated" stated as if he were there, I mean actually a part of the real time conversation between my wife and "Allison in Blunder land", "On April 14, 2006 you contacted "Allison in Blunder land" and during that conversation she also explained the process for filing an appeal if you wished to have your claim reconsidered. To date, you have not filed an appeal of your disability claim".
It's only March 22, 2006 and no MRI results are back yet, but hey we got a "going to work plan all ready for ya Rob". (I never spoke with "Allison in Blunder land" regarding any back to work program. I mean why would I). Just be patient, let's watch them back peddle here.
On to the April 6, 2006 mentioned above, why are we still talking about a return to work plan when we have not talked to the doctor yet.
On April 11, 2006 "Allison in Blunder land" attempted to call and I did not answer. Hmmm, no message on the answering machine.
LET'S QUOTE "BRADFORD THE EDUCATED" and learn about MORE BRADFORD'S BLUNDERS.

Ok kids, this is one of those multi part answers, maybe I can answer it with a multi-compound sentence.
First off, we contacted "Allison in Blunder land" and she didn't explain (no I won't use that word) crap! She hung up!
Secondly, "Allison in Blunder land" didn't include the appeal form in her "you're a faker, and I am going to kick you in the ?s. letter and admitted as much to my wife. GE Supply was simply stonewalling.

At this point even my 10 year old son gets it. GE Supply had no intention of doing anything other than "Starving me out". After all, they had the medical information from my doctor be it a day late, but they had it. "Bradford the Educated" was kind enough to fax along the required forms (I mean he is the HR Manager after all, out there doing his job helping a disabled employee). So we filed the appeal and waited and again only the sounds of silence.
In Early may, my wife sent an email to Jim Campbell and John Rice (GE Corporate Officers) and among others "Bradford the Educated" entitled "An Investigation by the EEOC didn't need to be. We were quite impressed that both men read the email (indicated by our read receipt) within an hour of receipt. It did give me a false glimmer of hope for a day or so, but as usual only the sounds of silence.
We received a call from one of the nice ladies at the EEOC, she was attempting to set a date for GE Supply and me to sit down for a pow wow. Unfortunately our first date didn't work out as it conflicted with an appointment that I had with my spinal surgeon, so the date was set in June. Although we were not getting paid we continued to move toward resolution of the spine surgery with my Neurosurgeon and the news was getting worse. We dutifully sent the medical records along to "Bradford the Educated" and "Allison in Blunder land"
Then about a week later came another volley from the Bismarck's giant guns, it was a direct hit. In June we received a letter that GE Supply was terminating our medical insurance as well, and to continue on Cobra it was going to be about $1500-$2000 a month, we were devastated.

In all of this madness, I had a moment of clarity, wait a minute here I am still employed by GE Supply! I am not getting paid and I am losing my medical insurance for me and my family, good thing that I bought that "Long term Disability Insurance from GE" that is not paying either, I should be thankful that I still have a job!
So, as I said above, we all had the opportunity to take a breath here, be it a small one,
Unfortunately it was mustard gas!
